  • Justin PumfordI never thought I'd have such a great experience with a towing company that I can't help but leave a review! Jason was absolutely fantastic to work with. Our vehicle was a little trickier to work with but he took it in stride and was creative while being totally safe. He cared extremely well for the vehicle. I couldn't have had a better experience!

  • Ogit LiveMy son was stuck on the side of the road in Provo, and Jason called me asking what I thought was wrong with my son's car. We talked about some ideas and I was all ready to have it towed to a repair shop for a big repair. Jason gave it some thought and looked at the car sitting on angle on the road. He opened the hood, used his own starter fluid and the car momentarily started. He found it was a fuel delivery problem, but suggested putting more gas in the tank (because he saw the car was on an angle and the gas might not have been deliverable). He put in a few more gallons and the car started up! No tow was needed to an expensive repair shop and I only paid for his time and service! He was kind and willing to help out. He $aved me a big repair bill by his technical experience. Great service, friendly, and very helpful. Thanks!

  • Kd ApgoodToday was one of my...not so favorite days and to end it my car wouldn’t start. I used Star towing and I will forever call them first. The customer service was IMPECCABLE! I was so stressed and having such a hard time and the gentleman that helped me was so calm and kind. It turned out he was the owner. I’m in tears writing this...it’s people like Jason that have such successful businesses for a reason. He is someone that has blessed my life in such a silly circumstance. Will 10000 percent recommend this company forever!

  • Dayna BlackburnMy tire was very stuck in one of those cement canals in AF and even though it was late and raining, they took the time to wedge up the wheel so no more damage was caused. Also recommended a good collision company close to me and knew that they took my insurance. I will recommend them to anyone who asks me.

  • Michael SmithReally awesome customer Service and got to ya fast. My car ran out of gas and we were having a hard timing finding someone to help because all of the other companies said it would be longer than an hour till they could get there. My wife is pregnant and it was getting cold so I really need it to be fast. I got ahold of these guys and the closest tow truck already was already headed somewhere with a car loaded up. He called me and said he would stop by anyway with some gas. He was going the opposite direction on the freeway and still turned around to help me. It was no longer than 20 minutes from when we talked to when a guy was there.

IMPOUND FAQ'S

getting your vehicle/personal property

Vehicles may be towed for many reasons. If the car or driver is not validly licensed, or is being arrested, the police may tow the car for safekeeping, or to conduct a more thorough search. Abandoned vehicles or illegally parked vehicles may be towed by the police or property owners to clear them from the property/street.
Vehicle impoundment is the legal process of placing a vehicle into an impoundment lot or tow yard, which is a holding place for cars until they are placed back in the control of the owner, recycled for their metal, stripped of their parts at a wrecking yard or auctioned off for the benefit of the impounding agency.
Private Property Impound. This is how private property owners deal with an issue of abandoned vehicles, or with people taking advantage of private residential parking, restaurant parking, shopping center parking, church parking, etc. A private property impound allows a property owner to use a tow company to remove the vehicle from said private parking/property, that are not authorized to be there. This is done with written legal consent from the property owners themselves.
1) If your vehicle was towed for 'Private Property Impound' and you received notice of the impound, you can pay for the services used to remove your vehicle, plus storage and company fees. These must be paid in full before vehicle will be released.

2) If your vehicle was towed at the request of an 'Local Law Enforcement Agency', you must first be sure that you don’t need the state or agency’s permission to pick up the vehicle. If so, you must follow the steps below...

* Steps for releasing a vehicle to obtain a vehicle release:

Step One

The vehicle owner must go to the local DMV office and:

A) Present proper evidence of ownership; (e.g. title, registration card, bill of sale)
B) Present picture ID
C) Pay all fees and penalties due for titling or registration functions
D) Obtain a “Letter of Impound Release” from DMV

Step Two

The vehicle owner must contact the impound or tow yard:

A) Present “Letter of Impound Release”
B) Present ID to the impound or tow yard
C) Pay the towing, storage and company admin fees

* The Tax Commission/DMV does not have regulatory authority or jurisdiction over towing or storage fees.
Storage fees start from the time the vehicle is dropped off by the tow truck in to the 'Impound Yard'. These fees are based on a 24 Hour period that starts at 12:00 AM and ends at 11:59 PM the end of the same day. If a vehicle was dropped off in the evening for example, at 8 PM, the storage would start at that time and end at 11:59 PM the end of that day. Even though it was only a few hours, it is counted as a 'Day' because that weekday or weekend day has ended and started a new day. So when your vehicle gets dropped in the yard, it immediately starts racking up daily storage fees, regardless of the exact time it got dropped off.
Yes, your property will be safe. Any impound yard is checked annually and certified to meet state and DMV guidelines to be an approved impound/storage yard. These guidelines are to have 'Locked' and securely fenced yards with 3-strands of barb wire running round the top of the parameter. The yards are to have lighting. Most yards have someone coming and going all day long, and all night. So there is a regular presence at most impound/storage yards.
That is a question with a lot of variables. The service charges can depend on what kind of tow truck got used, flatbed or wheel-lift. Whether it had to use special equipment to move/load the vehicle, and whether there were any leaking fluids during that process. Other special equipment can mean sorbent for fluids, dollies, skates, labor, jump packs, lock outs or any other needs to get the job done professionally. As far as the fees go, it will depend on how long it was in storage for, plus the companies state allowed admin fees. If you need to know the exact amount, we are always happy to help you get that total, and show you how we arrived there. We always follow state guidelines and policies.
If you received a certified notice on your vehicle being impounded by a towing company, and you have a 'Loan' or 'Finance Lien' on the vehicle, and you wish not to pay or surrender the vehicle. Then for your information, at that same time your certified notice was sent out, one was sent to your 'Lien Holder' as well. If as stated, you surrendered your vehicle or wish not to pay, then the 'Lien Holder' has an option to obtain the vehicle if they wish to pay the invoice due. But, if they should pay 'Your Bill', they will in turn come after you for those charges paid for them to get the vehicle back. If for some reason the vehicle is NOT PAID by yourself or the lien holder, within a certain amount of time allowed by law, then the vehicle and its property are surrendered or consider abandoned to the towing company. As payment to the towing company it is usually scraped or destroyed, sold privately or at an auction. Now, if the money received from the scraping, selling privately or at an auction sale is not enough to cover the towing, storage, and sale/auction fees, the last known 'Registered Owner' is held liable for the unpaid debt, and could be placed in to collections.
If a towed vehicle or personal property goes unclaimed by the owner within a given length of time, stated by law, then you will have been considered to have abandoned any personal property or the vehicle it self to the towing company.

If you should decide to pick up your vehicle or personal property after a certified notification, an owner or lien holder is given a length of time, stated by law, to pick up those items or the vehicle, as long as the 'Invoice' due is paid in full prior or agreed upon by the towing company.

* After receiving a certified notification, you have 30 Calendar Days from the letter date printed, or the day it was mailed or stamped. (Which is usually one in the same.)

The answer is yes... as long as there is no 'Finance Lien', 'Title Loan' or 'Lien Holder' on the title it self. As long as all of the above are clear, then you may sign the title over to the towing company in place of partial payment or payment in full, depending on the agreement with towing company.

* If for some reason you do not have a copy of the title and proof can be shown there is no 'Lien's', the other option is to sign a Duplicate Title Form in favor of the towing company.
